All eyes on Pacaltsdorp for Eden Sports Awards

EDEN NEWS - The Eden Sports Awards tonight, 6 February, is set to honour excellence and commitment in the region's sporting community.

Louise Mouton, journalist at Oudtshoorn Courant, was nominated for an award in sports media coverage.

This invitation-only ceremony will be hosted at the Pacaltsdorp Civic Centre, and a number of high-profile guests are expected to attend.

Hosted by the Eden Sport Council, this annual awards ceremony is regarded as one of the region's premier sporting events, celebrating sports leaders, administrators and achievers for their contribution and achievements during 2025.

According to Braam America, chairperson of the Eden Sports Council, the awards cover the entire Eden region, stretching from Heidelberg and Stilbaai to Plettenberg Bay, De Rust and Kannaland. This year, 140 nominations were received across 20 categories.

The guest speaker of the evening is Tiaan Pretorius, former Sevens Springbok and 2024 Olympic medallist. He is also contracted to play rugby for SWD in the 2026 season.
