Councillor opens fraud case against Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality

GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Today, 4 February, Councillor Xolile Galada, accompanied by Councillor Nathan Jacobs, opened a fraud case against the Dr Beyers Naudé Municipality.

The allegations of fraud relate to the security tenders that have recently been advertised by the municipality.

Galada submitted prima facie evidence implicating the Municipal Manager, his personal assistant, and the municipality's supply chain manager in fraudulent activities.

According to him, this instance of fraud can be linked to the findings of a 2018 HAWKS investigation into irregularities at the municipality's supply chain division.
