Promotion and reserve leagues reach business end

CRICKET NEWS - SWD Cricket’s promotion and reserve league competitions are reaching their business end.
The Plett Pioneers (184/5) have strengthened their position for a place in the top three with a six-wicket victory against NMU Madibaz.
The log standings of the top four teams in the promotion league are:
1st: Pirates United - 30 points (7 matches)
2nd: Plett Pioneers - 25 points (7 matches)
3rd: Ramblers - 22 points (7 matches)
4th: Mossel Bay - 2 points (7 matches)
The semi-finalists in the reserve league, which will be contested on Saturday, were also determined last weekend.
In the Reserve League Division 1, Beaufort West, Harlequins Forces C, Western Hope and Mayflower have advanced to the play-offs.
The respective pool winners in the Reserve League Division 2 that will play in the semi-finals are Knysna Cavaliers B, Calitzdorp Young Stars, Sussex B and Sussex C.
