PLETTENBERG BAY NEWS - George Royal Academy edged out Murray High School 1-0 in a thrilling Kay Motsepe Regional U19 Schools Cup final at Kwanokuthula Stadium this past Saturday.

Liyema Tukwayo scored the only goal of the match in the opening 20 minutes, beating Murray High goalkeeper Aqhamile Mooi.

Despite a late push led by Zukisani Mdyesha and Lakhiwe Menze, Murray High couldn't find an equaliser.

Earlier in the day, Murray High reached the final after a 1-0 semi-final win over Hillcrest High, thanks to a goal from Ikho Ntsuntsu.

Team captain Sithenkosi Ngqalula was instrumental throughout the tournament.

The final saw strong performances from both sides, with Gift Dlala and Sange Manzi controlling midfield for the Academy, while Ayabonga Mkontwana and Ikho Ntsuntsu battled hard for Murray High.

George Royal Academy now advances to the provincial stage in Beaufort West.
