SOCCER NEWS - The top-of-the-log Fast Eleven had mixed results in their Safa Eden Regional League fixtures last weekend.
On Saturday 24 January, they defeated Smuts United 6-4 at the Smutsville sports field in Sedgefield, but went down 3-0 against the spirited FC Rebels at Hornlee Stadium in Knysna in their second game.
With 18 points, Fast Eleven are currently occupying the top spot on the log table. They have played eight games with six victories, lost in two outings, scored 20 goals and conceded 15 goals.
The Fast Eleven skipper, Sihle Mafukula, thanked their coaches, Odwa Gayi and Nkosivile Jubeju, for leading them on their victorious path this season.
He said they have learnt from their mistakes in their less successful first season in this league.
Thanks to a good relationship and understanding between the players and management, the team is at the summit and stands a good chance of putting George on the map again.
