GEORGE NEWS - The seven-year-old Jonga High School in Thembalethu continues to shine, achieving another excellent pass rate.

The school’s Class of 2025 recorded an impressive 85.7% pass rate, beating the 83.9 milestone left by the Grade 12 Class of 2024. Their bachelor’s pass rate has also increased to 39.4%. In total, 300 learners registered for the National Senior Certificate.

Among their achievements are 100% pass rates in the subjects of consumer studies, life orientation, physical sciences and isiXhosa home language.

Headmaster Sinethemba Godla was ecstatic about the improvement, especially considering that the 2025 matrics not only started Grade Eight during Covid, but also were the new school’s first Grade Eight group that lived through the teething problems. Godla thanked the parents for the active role they played in their children’s school career.
