BUSINESS NEWS - Dr Polden obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the University of Pretoria in 2011, subsequently completing his internship and community service in Port Elizabeth.

He went on to complete his specialist surgical training at the Livingstone and Tygerberg hospitals, qualifying as a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa (FCS [SA]) in 2022.

Thereafter, he worked as a consultant surgeon at George Regional Hospital, gaining extensive experience managing both elective and emergency surgical cases.

Dr Polden’s special interests include thyroid surgery, abdominal surgery, vascular surgery, trauma surgery, minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgery, surgical oncology and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He has a particular interest in endoscopy, surgical oncology and laparoscopic techniques.

Dr Polden has been actively involved in breast cancer care since 2019 through his work with the non-profit organisation Project Flamingo, reflecting his commitment to patient advocacy and community-based healthcare initiatives.

Outside of medicine, Dr Polden enjoys hiking, travelling, exploring international cuisine and studying world history.

He is a devoted husband and family man who values balance between his professional responsibilities and personal life.
